M. Jean-Loïc Galle

Chairman and CEO – Thales Alenia Space

Jean-Loïc Galle has been appointed Chairman and CEO of Thales Alenia Space and Senior Vice President of the Thales Group for Space activities since September 1 2012.

Jean-Loïc Galle was previously Senior Vice President of Air Operations and a member of Thales’ Executive Committee. He was appointed to the position in 2010. From 2008 to 2010, he was General Manager of the Surface Radars unit. Previously, Jean-Loïc Galle was CEO of ThalesRaytheonSystems France, the French subsidiary of the Joint Venture between Thales and Raytheon.

Jean-Loïc Galle joined Thales in 1996 as Vice President and General Manager of the Helicopter Avionics Unit, covering all international civil helicopter and defence markets. He then became Vice-President and General Manager of the Military Avionics Unit, covering all avionics activities relating to all military platforms.

Jean-Loïc Galle began his career as a software engineer at SFENA in 1985 before successively serving as Vice President in charge of strategy and General Manager of the Navigation Systems unit at Sextant Avionique.

A graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Paris, Jean-Loïc Galle also holds an MBA from INSEAD and a diploma from the Centre for Higher Studies of Armament (CHEAr).
