Bertrand Piccard, m.d., Psychiatrist, Lecturer and Aeronaut, author of the First Non-Stop Balloon round-the-World tour, Initiator and Pilot of Solar Impulse, President of the “Winds of Hope“ Humanitarian Foundation and United Nations roving Ambassador, Pioneer of free flight in Europe.

Bertrand Piccard is the initiator and visionary behind Solar Impulse, the first zero-fuel aircraft with perpetual range. For 3 generations, his family goes beyond conventional wisdom to achieve the impossible – as during his two non-stop round-the-world tours in a balloon, then in a solar plane. While the abyss and the stratosphere attracted his father and grandfather, Bertrand is fascinated by the great challenges of our time. With Solar Impulse, its ambition is to promote the pioneering spirit in favor of renewable energy and clean technologies. The greatest Institutions acknowledge him as an influential opinion leader on the themes of progress and sustainability.
